Alžběta Brůhová

jury / architecture


Alžběta P. Brůhová is a co-founder of the Architektky platform, which aims to promote greater diversity in professional representation, increased openness of architecture to various approaches and outcomes, and the creation of a kind and respectful environment. She approaches architecture through topics related to fair opportunities and diverse needs within and outside the profession, constantly seeking new architectural responses in her creative practice. Her wish is for the Czech architectural scene to increasingly open up to professional paths beyond building design, and for architecture faculties to support students in transferring creative abilities into other fields. Currently, she teaches at the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague.

Tomáš Kosnar

Tomáš Kosnar graduated in Prague at the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University (ČVUT), primarily in the studio of Alena Šrámková. In 2009-2010, he studied at RWTH Aachen in Germany in the studio of Mirko Baum. During his time at ČVUT, he was a member of the Student Association of Architects (SPA) and co-organized the Olověný Dušan competition several times. He gained professional experience initially in larger studios such as Prague's ADNS. Since 2011, he has been working at the Architecture Hut of Martin Rajniš, which he currently co-leads with David Kubík and Martin Rajniš. He is a co-author of a book about Martin Rajniš and his Architecture Hut, published last year. The projects he has been involved in have received several awards in both the Czech Republic and abroad. Simultaneously, he works as an independent consultant for development projects for investment clients. Tomáš Kosnar is an authorized architect, a member of the Czech Chamber of Architects (ČKA), and a member of the Academy of the Czech Architecture Prize.

Martina Forejtová

She is a licensed landscape architect and the founder of the Land05 studio. She studied Garden and Landscape Architecture at the Faculty of Horticulture in Lednice, Moravia, at Mendel University in Brno. In 2001, she completed a study internship at Wageningen University in the Netherlands as part of the International Course of Landscape Design and Planning. She is a member of the Czech Chamber of Architects (ČKA), the Czech Association for Landscape Architecture (ČAKA), and the Society for Garden and Landscape Design (SZKT). Over her more than fifteen years of practice, she has worked on numerous projects in both the public and private sectors. She has received various awards in architectural competitions, collaborates with prominent Czech and international studios, and regularly serves on architectural juries.

Jan Hora

He is a licensed architect and educator. He graduated from the Faculty of Architecture at the Technical University of Liberec (FUA TUL) in 2013. During his studies, he underwent training in several studios and completed two foreign stays in Istanbul and Amsterdam. Currently, he is engaged in his own practice called ORA and teaches studio courses at the Faculty of Architecture at Brno University of Technology (FA VUT). In his professional practice, he primarily focuses on the modifications of existing structures.

Štefan Polakovič

He is an architect, urban planner, and co-founder of the GutGut studio. In his work, he offers perspectives that surpass traditional solutions. His designs draw on international experience while also responding to the local context, history, and societal impact. Notable projects, such as the residential building on Dunajská Street in Bratislava (2010), the reconstruction of a panel apartment building in Rimavská Sobota (2014), and the reconstruction of the Mlynica complex in Bratislava (2017), have received favorable reviews from both experts and the general public. With the design of a functionally and typologically layered residential structure, he became a laureate of the Europan 5 award. The GutGut studio is a recipient of the ARCH Award, the Dušan Jurkovič Award, and a four-time laureate of the CE-ZA-AR Architecture Award. Currently, the architect also teaches at the Faculty of Architecture at STU in Bratislava, where he has led the Institute of Civil Building Architecture since 2013. In 2010, he co-founded the DAAD (Days of Architecture and Design) festival in Bratislava.

Karolína Jeřábková

A graduate of the Ceramics and Porcelain Studio at the Prague School of Art and Design and the Ceramic Design program at the Faculty of Art and Design of Jan Evangelista Purkyně University. Her work is strongly influenced by the phenomenon of coffee, focusing on alternative coffee preparation methods and designing sets for cafes. Since 2020, she has been part of the Nic novýho studio, specializing in conceptual design. Her work was recently featured in the Diploma Selection and was also part of the Terra Alba exhibition.

Tomáš Bárta

He has been operating in his own studio, Hightemp Studio, since 2017. He focuses on designing and producing both artistic and functional objects, predominantly using porcelain. He considers the combination of craftsmanship with contemporary design to be crucial. He particularly appreciates the unpredictability of porcelain, which keeps one constantly on their toes. Additionally, he partially works in the film industry as a visual artist. In his free time, he enjoys designing and printing graphics, cycling, supporting professionals, playing the guitar or drums, and tasting products from small craft breweries. He studied at the Academy of Arts, Architecture, and Design in Prague (VŠUP). One of his most interesting experiences was collaborating with Norwegian artist Marit Tingleff at Kunsthøgskolen i Oslo. He seeks and perceives art at every step.

Barbora Kolerusová

Alongside Johana Němečková, she co-founded Other Projects Studio, which primarily focuses on designing private and public interiors, products, furniture, and exhibition displays. In their work, they emphasize an active dialogue among all participants, including the specific place, space, and objects that they place within these areas. Since 2017, they have been dedicated to their own brand, Óda, which, with a sensitive approach, updates products using traditional Czech craftsmanship techniques in an effort to reintegrate them into everyday households. In their Žižkov studio, they are supervised by Špageta and Berta, a purebred Canarian Podenco and Slovak Wirehaired Pointer.
