HI-FI litinové reproduktory
Ateliér Jaroš/Bednář
This semester, I decided to design speakers for the Cast Iron theme. Although it may not seem like it at first glance, gray cast iron with a high percentage of carbon is very well suited for a loudspeaker cabinet. The same technology is still used to sand cast the best piano frames. I was even more convinced when I listened to JERN speakers (a Danish company producing cast iron speakers) in an HI-FI studio in Antwerp.
For the shape of the speaker itself, I based it on the ideal shape of the speaker cabinet - a sphere. The speaker sits on non-slip pads in a hand-cut glass base lens, allowing the user to tilt the speakers at will so that they can provide the best possible reproduction of music on the TV table, stand, but perhaps also from the ground.
The result is a fully functional pair of cast iron loudspeakers and a DSP amplifier. Together they form a Hi-Fi stereo setup that allows connectivity via Bluetooth or Jack cable. It was a privilege to learn from the professionals who assisted me during this project.
