Snubní prstýnky a litinová lampa
Ateliér Jaroš/Bednář
For the assignment on the topic of cast iron, I designed a corner desk lamp that is inspired by
the cast iron bases of public lighting and the famous Arco Lamp by brothers Achille and Pier
Giacomo Castiglioni. I chose cast iron mainly for its heaviness, which provides a stable base
for the lamp. The design of the lamp refers to the bases of public lighting by consisting of
two parts that embrace a delicate tube with a lampshade. The tube and lampshade, with
their arc, are reminiscent of the Arco Lamp.
As part of the second project this semester in the Jaroš and Bednář studio, we were tasked with designing engagement or wedding rings, allowing us to experiment with jewelry-making techniques and the lost wax method. I opted to create a concept for Wedding Rings, which were cast as one piece and then broken apart. This technique gives each ring a unique appearance due to the unique relief formed at the break, thus emphasizing its uniqueness and individuality.
